Privacy notice

This notice explains what information AfricanArtists.com handles and why. In short: the site sets no cookies, and the only personal information it receives is what you choose to send through the offer form.

The offer and contact form

When you send the form on the offers page, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, organisation (if given), the amount of any offer and your message. They are sent by email to the owner of the domain, using an email delivery provider, so that we can reply. We use them only to answer you and, if a sale goes ahead, to complete it. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone else, except as needed to complete a sale you agree to (for example with an escrow service).

We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting transaction.

Visit statistics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors; it reports aggregated figures such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types.

Search

The search box in the header works in your browser. The first time you use it, it downloads an index of this site's pages, and what you type is matched against that index on your device. If nothing on this site matches and you have typed at least three characters, the box asks Wikipedia (run by the Wikimedia Foundation) for articles with a matching name, which means Wikipedia receives what you typed and your IP address, and handles them under its own privacy policy. Links to Wikipedia in the results lead there only if you click them.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs to deliver pages and protect the service.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information you have sent us. Use the form on the offers page and say what you would like us to do. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version will be published on this page.
