One of the country’s most extraordinary private art collections is hidden in plain sight.
Nearly every square inch of Paul Hamilton’s home in Denver’s Whittier neighborhood is occupied by a piece of African art. Hamilton, 80, has carved out just enough space to walk around his home. When he eats a meal, he has to free up some space on his table.
The bathroom is the only room in Hamilton’s house without something from his collection.
With more than 1,200 pieces, Hamilton owns one of the largest private collections of African art in the entire country.
“As a teacher, you don’t make a lot of money,” explained Hamilton, a retired teacher who spent 40 plus years working for Denver Public Schools and Jefferson County Public Schools. “B...

Top 10 African Nations with the best Musicians 2024
In this video we shall look at the top 10 African Nations with the best Musicians this year 2024.
Number 10. DRC
Number 3. South Africa
From jazz to pop and everything in between, South African musicians have a lot to offer music fans all over the globe. These artists have entertained audiences around the world and left an indelible mark on the history of music. The musicians you should look forward to be blown away by them are Young Stunna, Cassper Nyovest, Bonang Matheba, black coffee and AKA.
Number 2. Ghana
Ghanaians love their music. The Ghanaian music industry has been growing over the years, with budding musicians coming with new skills as veterans lead the way. The west African country enjoys a diverse taste musically, as the top genres played are reggae, highlife, hiplife, Afro-pop, Azonto, Kpanlogo, Afrobeat, Raglife and dancehall.
Ghanaian musicians show their versatility by trying different genres and collaborating with artists outside Ghana. Many Ghanaian artists are recognized worldwide and have even been nominated for International music awards like the BET Awards and Grammy Awards. These musicians include; Shatta Wale, Stone Bwoy, Sarkodie, Samini and MzVee.
Number 1. Nigeria
The Nigerian Music Industry is undeniably the leading industry all over the world with musicians like Davido, KiZz Daniel, WIZKID, Burna boy, ASAKE, Yemi Alade, Falz, Simi, Rema. I mean it’s an unending role of excellent musicians producing international hits back to back in the form of Afropop, reggae, makossa, soul, R&B, just name any genre. Nigeria unarguably has the best Musicians ever!

Her last projects were the collaboration with Cuban musician Roberto Fonseca (”At Home“ / 2015), the fusion album “Lamomali“ (2017) with French rock musician Matthieu Chedid, as well as the documentary “Mali Blues“. Last year she performed on stage at the Africa festival with Tuareg Ahmed Ag Kaedy, one of the protagonists from this movie. By popular request we have invited the fighter for the rights of women in Africa again to make the festival tent boil. In 2013 she received the Africa Festival Award.

In this Video we'll be exploring ten of the most influential living Black painters who have made significant contributions to the art world. The list was challenging to put together, and we've already decided to do a part 2 next month. These artists have not only redefined the limits of art but have also challenged the way we view race, identity, and representation.

Hey everyone! My name is Moriah Alise and I'm the founder of Alise Art Group, a visual arts management company that's all about helping artists build sustainable careers. As a friend, a sounding board, and an advice giver to many prominent art collectors, I also love introducing and guiding collectors in building their art collections. I've had many different experiences in this field and as I continue to learn, I feel a passion to share my knowledge with others.
This series is for all of us who are on the journey of discovering glory through art. Whether it's art collecting, for artists who are growing in their careers, for those who are passionate about visual arts, and for everyone who is leaving their mark through art.
Let's have a chat about our art world experiences, whether we observe from afar or get up close and personal. We'll bring in artists and art professionals for lively discussions and follow artists documentary as they create and grow.

“But I’m not one who spends money on cars and clothes and that type of thing. My money went that way. My house has been my bank.”
